It was a timely opportunity to invite my 3 'old' friends for a short lunch gathering after a late morning meeting. As it was Friday, they were game on.

Zhiwei, Shena and Ah Kat arrived first at Peninsular Plaza B1 foodcourt (what name was that?) and got a table for 6 - adding me and my sidekicks.

Peninsular Plaza known as the Singapore's Little Myanmar, is a one-stop shop for everything Burmese.

Inside sprouts family-owned businesses selling Burmese delicacies, household products and even 'longyi' (pronounced as "lon chee"), a traditional garment worn by Burmese).

We ordered Burmese Dum Briyani, known as Dunbauk, with chicken. The stall was located first or second from the entrance.

It was light, non-spicy and non-oily with mild fragrance and aftertaste compared to Indian Briyani.

There were cashew nuts, raisins and peas. The guy threw in a scoop of shallots, which Zhiwei expertly ascertained wasn't prepared at the stall as it did not give that crispy, fresh crunch.

It came with soup too, which tasted salty refreshing, like Myanmar fish pond.

While we quietly enjoyed that tender chicken, Kat was sweating in the poorly-ventilated foodcourt. She enjoyed the briyani nevertheless.

We yumcha at Yakun in Funan B2, consumating our Friday lunch gathering.

My usual hot lemon tea

It was nice lunching with these 'old' folks after a hectic week. Eugene, myself and little Bubu would be heading for the sandy beach in Sabah tomorrow.

Shena's flying off to HCMC too! Hope weather is good there.

Btw... Eugene spotted Alan wearing something trendy. Didn't know its the in-thing for Fridays. Lets wear it next time!
